Shahan Company owns several vital projects in the private sector of Duhok city. Our company's roots started with us as several brothers who started from scratch. We worked diligently non-stop until we brought the Shahan Company to the point where it is now. The company is growing and constructing more significant and critical projects daily, which now has a good reputation among the people of our city. Our great love and loyalty for our country and our beloved city of Duhok instilled in our souls a sense of patriotism, protecting the homeland and working for it with dedication and sincerity as we devote all our strength, energies, and capabilities to its building and prosperity.
The budget and financial income of Shahan Company have not and will not be used to serve the people of a country other than the beloved people of Kurdistan, which will be by building residential, commercial, industrial, cultural, and entertainment projects in Duhok Governorate and Kurdistan in general. We have reached a point where we not only think of building new projects but also help in completing projects that have been suspended due to the economic crisis that Kurdistan has been going through the past few years! That has led us to find solutions for these kinds of projects that we'd love to implement in cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government, without dereliction and doing our best to build our beloved Kurdistan.
Throughout this period, the values articulated in Shahan's culture have rung true: they are much more than words on paper. I want to express my thanks on behalf of the Board for the continued hard work, resilience and dedication Shahan's people have shown as they live our values and deliver on our purpose, giving back to the communities in which we work every day. As a large and diverse Group, we depend on thousands of supply chain partners, customers, shareholders and other stakeholders, all of whom I thank for their ongoing support.
The Board Part of our role in creating value while representing the best interests of all our stakeholders, including investors, is to offer constructive counsel and challenge to the executive leadership. My priorities as Chair are, therefore, to ensure that Balfour Beatty has a strong and appropriate Board and to provide our Group Chief Executive and his team with support in their execution of the Company strategy to deliver profitable managed growth and cash generation.
